   YVC4.  Drying barn with tobacco leaves. Many of the first settlers came to the New World looking for gold (which the Spanish explorers had found in abundance in their first landings). However, the Englishmen did discover tobacco - a brown "golf" of great value when exported to Europe.    © 2006 Michele and Tom Grimm.
