PICTURES THAT TELL A STORY

"Tell me a story" is a request that begins in early childhood. Almost all children love stories. So do most adults!

When you're visiting a new country, meeting new people, or just walking down your home street, there are story/picture possibilities everywhere.

What's happening around you? What's new?  What makes you stop for a second look. Don't worry about taking the "perfect" picture. New photo software allows you to correct almost any mistakes you make - sharpening the pictures, increasing the contrast, even getting rid of trees or other people by cropping or moving colors over them.

Here are a series of pictures I have taken over the years. Often they tell a story. Or sometimes the story is the picture itself. Included are some tips about how the pictures were improved in the "digital darkroom" of computer software, in this case, Photoshop Elements 5.

1. Taking a dive in Australia

2. The Las Vegas gamble

3. Capturing Las Vegas on the move

4. A young "bride" in Ecuador

5. A Bermuda "shower"

6.  Former President Jimmy Carter

7.  Mickey Mantle

8.  Bermuda "dunking"

9.  Chocolate fantasy

10.  Napoleon, the squirrel

11.  Fingers and harps

12.  Boy with six eyes

13.  "Feel the Music"

14.  Giving the Astronaut a push
